LA-81

The LA-81 is a rack-mount line amplifier with eight channels that converts balanced line-level signals to unbalanced ones. It is intended for professional installations in which balanced and unbalanced gear has to work together, bridging the two signal levels while preserving signal quality. Its companion model, the LA-80, performs the opposite conversion, from unbalanced to balanced.

Level can be fine-tuned from the front panel. Ground lift switches are provided both for each channel individually and as a global switch, which helps when dealing with ground-related hum between devices. The rear panel also carries a utility ancillary power outlet.

The unit fits a standard 19-inch rack at 482 x 48 x 196 mm and weighs 2.8 kg. An owner's manual and technical documentation are available as downloads from the maker.
