- Data is processed by our service providers (Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare, Resend, DPD, Google, Apple, GitHub, Anthropic and others). The list is in section 5.
- You can get a copy of your data, correct it, delete your account (in the app or website settings or by writing to market@soundium.com) and complain to the Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate.

2. What data we collect and why
| Data | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email, name, profile photo, bio, city, links, username, language | Account, profile, emails | Performance of contract |
| Sign-in data (a one-time code or link by email, Google or Apple identifier, session) | Signing in | Performance of contract |
| Listings, photos, prices, location (to city level), serial number | Showing listings; serial number — preventing the sale of stolen items (only the seller, Soundium and the buyer who paid for the order see it) | Performance of contract, legitimate interest |
| Messages, offers, photos and videos in chats | Communication between members | Performance of contract |
| Automatic chat checks: contact details are hidden before payment (the Soundium team sees the original text), risky messages are flagged and an excerpt is sent to the Soundium team | Fraud prevention | Legitimate interest |
| Orders, buyer's name, phone, delivery address or parcel locker, packaging photos | Fulfilling the order, shipping, disputes | Performance of contract |
| Service bookings: the service, time, place (the provider's address or online), the customer's time zone; when the provider enters a booking themselves — the customer's name and a note; for remote jobs, the material, files and results | Carrying out the booking, the provider's calendar, disputes | Performance of contract |
| Payment data (only Stripe sees the card), card issuing country, IP address when paying, failed payment attempts, receipts | Payment, payment checks, disputes with the bank, accounting | Performance of contract, legitimate interest, legal obligation |
| Seller payout data (Stripe verifies identity and bank account); the name, surname and address verified by Stripe are copied to us for every seller who turns on payouts; a bank account marker and its last 4 digits | Payouts, filling in the DAC7 form, spotting the same account on several profiles | Performance of contract, legal obligation, legitimate interest |
| Tax data: name, date of birth, address, taxpayer number, VAT code, IBAN | Reporting to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) (DAC7) | Legal obligation |
| Dispute cases, evidence, content reports, Soundium decisions | Handling disputes and reports | Performance of contract, legal obligation (DSA) |
| Ratings | Trust between members | Performance of contract |
| Public behaviour signals: “active today” or “this week”, “replies within”, “ships within”, the “Trusted seller” badge (it changes the order of listings on the browse page) | Trust between members, sorting listings | Legitimate interest |
| Whether you bought at the Soundium store with the same email | “Soundium customer” and “Bought at Soundium” badges | Legitimate interest |
| App device ID, push token, notification settings | Notifications, fraud prevention | Performance of contract, legitimate interest; news — consent |
| Location in the app (if you allow it) | Finding the nearest listings and parcel lockers | Consent |
| A service provider's calendar busy times (if the provider adds their Google, Apple or Outlook calendar address): the busy times, read every 15 min | Showing free booking times | Performance of contract |
| View counter: the signed-in member's ID or a random browser ID (only if you allowed analytics; otherwise the IP address); only a hash calculated from them is stored | Listing view count | Legitimate interest |
Analytics (only if you allowed it): a random browser ID (anon_id), the signed-in member's ID, pages opened, where you came from, searches, listings viewed, saves, chats started, offers, checkouts started and payments, sign-up, listings published, site and language | Understanding what works on Market and what to improve | Consent |
| Totals without any ID: how many times a day each type of page was opened, search texts and how many times they were searched | Traffic and search statistics | Legitimate interest |
| Consent records: your choice, the policy version, the time, the member or browser ID (if any) | Proving that you gave or withdrew consent | Legal obligation |
| Technical logs (events, app error diagnostics, sign-in rate limits by IP) | Security, fixing bugs | Legitimate interest |
Some decisions are made automatically: the “Trusted seller” badge (using the criteria in section 9 of the Terms of use), hiding contact details in chats, flagging risky messages, holding payments and new listings for checks. Reports and disputes are handled by the Soundium team; some actions (rejecting a report, hiding a listing or review, a warning) may be taken by an automated tool supervised by a person. A person suspends accounts and decides about money. You can ask for any decision to be reviewed by a person — write to market@soundium.com.
3. Who sees your data
- Other members see your profile, listings, ratings, public behaviour signals and the messages you send them.
- The seller, after payment, sees the buyer's name, phone and delivery address — only to ship or hand over the item.
- The service provider sees the customer's name and the booked service, time and place. If the provider subscribes to the Market calendar link (iCal) in their calendar, the bookings with the customer's name, place, address and note also reach their calendar service (e.g. Google, Apple or Outlook).
- The Soundium team sees as much as needed for disputes, reports, payment checks and support. For this it also uses an AI assistant (Anthropic Claude), which can read cases, orders, member data and reports.
- Authorities — when the law requires it (e.g. VMI under DAC7).
4. How long we keep data
| Data | How long |
|---|---|
| Account, listings, messages | While the account is active. After deletion some data stays (see below); messages and technical events are not deleted at the moment. |
| Orders, receipts, accounting records | 10 years (accounting documents) |
| DAC7 data | We don't delete it automatically; we keep it for as long as the law requires. |
| Encrypted database backups | 14 days; Sunday backups with files — 56 days |
| Unsent dispute drafts and unused files | 1 day |
| Unsent videos in chats | 1 day |
| View counter tokens | About 1 day (old tokens are cleared roughly every 50th view) |
| Sign-in rate limit records by IP | 1 day |
| Link preview cache | 2 days |
| Analytics events | 13 months |
| Totals and consent records | 25 months |
When you delete your account: your listings (except sold ones) are removed from Market; your favourites, settings, analytics events (also those of the browsers you were signed in on), blocks, saved sender addresses, follows and waitlist entries are deleted; your provider page is deleted together with its services, team, working hours and calendar data (busy times, calendar address and link); open offers are cancelled, and the address is deleted from unpaid offers and orders; your profile name becomes “Deleted account”, and your photo, bio, city, phone and links are cleared; sign-in is closed and your email is replaced; the app device ID is replaced with its hash, and the push token is deleted.
What stays: paid orders and receipts (for accounting), sold listings, ratings, messages, photos and videos you sent to others, dispute cases and their files, content reports, service bookings (with the customer's name, place and note), packaging photos, serial numbers entered for listings, the IP address recorded with an order's payment, the Soundium team's flags and account suspensions, tax (DAC7) data, the device ID hash, technical events, your Stripe customer and payout accounts (at Stripe), the payout bank account marker and its last 4 digits, the deletion record, and backups for up to 56 days.
You can't delete your account while you have unfinished orders or rentals, or while a buyer can still report a problem with an order that has been paid out (48 hours after the payout).
5. Service providers (data processors)
| Provider | Purpose | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments, seller payouts, identity verification, disputes with the bank: when a buyer disputes a payment with their bank, we pass on the IP address when paying, the item title, the order's event log (payment, shipping, handover), the DPD tracking number and excerpts of up to the last 60 chat messages, each up to 300 characters | EU and US |
| Supabase | Database, sign-in, files, server functions | EU (Ireland) |

When data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on a European Commission adequacy decision (e.g. the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.
