DV-D6500

The DV-D6500 is a rack-mount DVD player built for fixed installations where the player has to be driven by an external controller. Its RS-232 port works in both directions. Through it a controller can send transport commands and read back status, disc format, and track and disc counter information, and can jump straight to a track number. Playback covers DVD-Video, Super Video CD and audio CD, and the player also reads CD-R, CD-RW and DVD-R media.

Picture handling includes true progressive scan, FVPP image processing for gamma and sharpness adjustments, format settings for 4:3 and 16:9 monitors, and on-screen icons that can be switched off. An update for an all-black background is available. Playback modes include slow motion, frame-by-frame, repeat play for all formats, and program and random play for audio CD and Video CD only.

Video leaves the unit as composite, S-Video or component. Audio is available on unbalanced stereo RCA outputs and on coaxial and optical digital outputs, which carry stereo or surround signals. An optional IF-P6500 control box provides power-on play control. The RC-6500J wireless remote is supplied.
