The DP-008 records up to eight tracks, with two tracks recorded at the same time, at 44.1 kHz / 16-bit resolution. Each channel has level, pan and two-band EQ controls. A stereo reverb runs on a send/return path, and a chromatic tuner and metronome are built in. Autopunch and a footswitch input allow punch-in recording.
Inputs are two XLR microphone inputs with phantom power and two 1/4" line inputs, one of which can be switched to guitar level for direct recording. Built-in stereo electret condenser microphones are also fitted. Audio is monitored through RCA line outputs and a 1/8" stereo headphone output, and a backlit LCD shows operation.
Recordings are stored on SD or SDHC cards of up to 32GB. A USB 2.0 port connects to a computer for backup and for exporting tracks and mixdowns. The unit runs on four AA batteries or on the optional PS-P520 power supply. A 2GB SD card, USB cable and AA batteries are supplied. The maker lists it as replaced by the DP-008EX.
