The twenty.sub is an active subwoofer from PMC's twenty series. Two custom 6.5-inch (170mm) doped-cone bass units work with a 3m effective Advanced Transmission Line to reach down to 22Hz, using a slender cabinet intended to fit in with domestic interiors. The cabinet sits on a high-mass plinth that absorbs resonance, helps manage cables and gives a stable base.
On-board DSP, derived from PMC's professional electronics, optimises the driver response. It provides a range of low-pass filters, frequency adjustments and a parametric EQ for tuning the sub to the room. A 400W Class-D amplifier drives the unit and accepts both balanced analogue and digital connections.
Inputs are two balanced analogue XLR (left/right) and one AES digital XLR. Filtered and unfiltered outputs let it serve in a multichannel AV system or as the bass addition to a passive 2.1 music system. Registering the product within 10 days of purchase extends the warranty to 20 years, subject to terms.
