The DRM18S is a self-powered 18" subwoofer built around a 2000W Class-D amplifier with a universal 100–240 VAC power supply and power factor correction. An Advanced Impulse DSP module handles acoustic correction, and a high-excursion 18" woofer sits in a ported plywood cabinet with internal bracing, a textured coating and a powder-coated steel grille.
Settings are made through the DRM Control Dashboard, a full-colour display operated with one knob. It offers a variable crossover with a preset for full-range DRM loudspeakers, polarity invert, alignment delay, a cardioid mode for directional arrays of several subs, screensaver, dimmer and contrast control, real-time amplifier temperature, a 4-digit passcode lock and six user presets.
There are two independent input channels, with stereo XLR inputs, stereo high-pass XLR outputs and stereo full-range XLR mix outputs. The cabinet has an M20 pole mount and can be flown using the optional FB100 fly bar and FKDRM18S flyware kit.
