Thunder is a handheld condenser microphone built around a hand-assembled 28mm large-diaphragm capsule. It uses a pressure-gradient transducer with a shock-mounted capsule. The tuning is described as having extended upper clarity and a smooth mid-range, so it can serve as a main or supporting microphone for voice or instruments in recording and live settings.
The cardioid pickup pattern favours the source in front of the microphone, which helps separate it from other sounds and reduces feedback. Frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, sensitivity is -35 dBV at 1 kHz, and the maximum SPL is 136 dB at 0.5% THD. Equivalent noise is rated at 6 dB-A.
The microphone connects through a 3-pin XLR male output and is powered by external +48 V phantom power, drawing 3 mA or less. A shockmount and a mic clip come in the box, together with a quickstart guide.
