The QCon EX G2 adds eight channels to a QCon Pro G2 control surface. Units can be chained in groups of eight to reach 16, 24, 32 and up to 64 channels, depending on how many extenders the DAW supports. It provides hands-on control of levels, EQ and effects, plus automation recording and punch in/out.
Each unit has eight touch-sensitive motorized faders and a ninth for the master channel. It also has eight dual-function push encoders, each ringed by an 11-segment LED, and 12-segment LED level meters per channel. A large backlit LCD shows channel names and parameter values. Two foot pedal connectors are fitted, and the casing is aluminum and metal with a Kensington lock port.
It works with Mackie Control or HUI emulation and has presets for many DAWs, including Cubase/Nuendo, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools, Studio One and Reaper. A User Defined mode and iMap MIDI-learn software allow custom mapping. It connects over class-compliant USB 2.0 high speed, and firmware updates are made over USB through iMap. Bitwig Studio 8-Track and several plugin bundles are included.
