The Vintage Classic X is a large floorstanding speaker with a high-volume rectangular cabinet of walnut-veneered high density fibreboard with extensive internal bracing. Its design uses a traditional baffle-to-driver size ratio, real wood veneer panels, gold trim and a black baffle.
The two-way system pairs a 250mm IsoFlare point source driver, with a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone, and a 75mm titanium alloy dome compression tweeter, on a ferrite magnet system. The port fires downwards and uses a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser. The crossover is a bi-wired passive low-loss design, Cryo-Lite treated, with 2nd order low-pass and high-pass filters at 750Hz. Two system adjustments allow high frequency energy and presence to be trimmed by +/- 3dB.
Sensitivity is 94dB with an 8 Ohm nominal impedance, and the speaker accepts amplifiers rated from 20 to 280 watts RMS. Continuous power handling is 140 watts RMS and peak handling is 560 watts. The speakers are sold as a pair and a manual is available for download.
