The G1Xon is a floor-based multi-effects processor with 100 effects and amp models covering distortion, compression, modulation, delay and reverb, plus five effects that can be controlled from the pedal. Up to five effects run at the same time and can be chained in any order. Patches are stored in 100 memory locations arranged as 10 banks of 10, with a swap function for reorganising them and an auto save function that stores all patch parameters automatically.
The built-in expression pedal can control input level, output level or a chosen effect parameter. A pre-select function lets you choose the next patch silently while the current one keeps sounding. Other tools include a chromatic tuner that supports standard, open and drop tunings, a looper that records up to 30 seconds or 64 beats of CD-quality audio, and 68 rhythm patterns that can be used with the looper. The backlit LCD has contrast control for dark stages.
The mono 1/4" input accepts both active and passive instruments, and a 1/8" auxiliary input connects a personal music player. A stereo 1/4" output feeds an amp or headphones. The unit runs on four AA batteries (about 20 hours with alkaline cells) or an optional AC adapter, and a USB port is used for firmware updates.
