Rack-mounted 1U solid-state audio recorder and player that records and plays WAV and MP3 files on CompactFlash, SD/SDHC cards or USB memory. Aimed at installed-sound, broadcast and live-event users needing a two-channel recorder with balanced and unbalanced I/O. Discontinued.

The SS-R100 is a 1U rack-mount two-channel recorder that works with solid-state media: CompactFlash cards (Type 1, 512MB–64GB), SD cards (512MB–2GB), SDHC cards (4GB–32GB) and USB memory (512MB–64GB). It records WAV at 16-bit, 44.1 or 48kHz, or MP3 at 64–320kbps, in stereo or mono. Playback covers WAV at 16 or 24-bit and the same MP3 range.
Audio connections include balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs and outputs, an RCA S/PDIF digital input and output, and a 6.3mm stereo headphone jack. Quoted audio figures (JEITA) include a frequency response of 20Hz–20kHz ±0.5dB, S/N ratio of 95dB or more and distortion of 0.005% or less.
For control and integration there is an RS-232C port, a 25-pin parallel port, a remote input for the RC-SS2, a remote jack for the RC-20 and RC-3F, a PS/2 keyboard connector and a USB 2.0 High Speed port. The unit runs from 100–240V AC mains. Firmware V1.33 is the latest listed update.
