WB98H/C

The WB98H/C is a miniature cardioid condenser microphone built to clamp onto the bell of a wind instrument or the rim of a drum. An integrated gooseneck with a ratcheting swivel joint lets the capsule be aimed and locked in place, while an isolation shock-mount cuts the transfer of key noise and other mechanical handling noise. A gooseneck angle brace is included to hold the position during energetic playing.

The cardioid pickup pattern gives high gain before feedback and rejects off-axis sound. Transformerless preamplifier circuitry improves linearity across the frequency range, and the high maximum SPL handling copes with loud brass, woodwind and percussion sources. The compact body keeps stage clutter down.

This version is supplied with a 1.6 m (5.3 ft) high-flex cable terminated with a 4-pin mini connector for use with wireless bodypacks. Interchangeable cartridges with other polar patterns are sold separately, and the kit comes with a zippered carrying bag and a windscreen.
