Passive dynamic microphone switcher with a momentary footswitch. It lets a vocalist on stage redirect the mic to a second output, such as a monitor or intercom feed, to talk to the band or crew, or to mute the main output briefly.

The HotShot DM-1 is a passive footswitch unit for dynamic microphones. A dynamic mic connects to its input, and the signal normally passes to the main XLR output that feeds the mixer. While the momentary footswitch is held down, the main output is muted and the mic signal is sent to the second output instead.
The second output can feed a monitor desk channel or a common intercom bus, so a performer using in-ear monitors can speak to band members or technicians between songs without the audience hearing. Releasing the switch returns the unit to normal operation automatically. The same action can be used as a cough mute, or to bring in an effect channel (for example echo or chorus) on a second mixer channel while the switch is held.
The design is passive and needs no power. Connections are made with XLR cables for the mic input and the two outputs. The unit is listed under part number R800 1500 00.
