PMC15 XBD

The PMC15 XBD is a three-way active main monitor system made up of two cabinets: a Master cabinet and a SUBxbd cabinet. Each cabinet carries one new 15-inch bass driver with a double-stacked magnet and a three-layer 3-inch voice coil. The Master cabinet also holds the 75mm PMC75v3 soft-dome midrange, with an n-compass dual-profile waveguide, and the 34mm soft-dome tweeter. The cabinets can be freestanding, stacked vertically or horizontally, or mounted side by side in a soffit.

A rackmount PMC Master36 DSP/amplifier controls the system and powers the primary cabinet with 800W to the tweeter, 800W to the midrange and 2000W to the bass driver. A separate power20 amplifier supplies a further 2000W to the 15-inch driver in the SUBxbd cabinet. Bass is loaded with PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) design, with Laminair airflow technology.

Crossovers, excursion protection and room EQ are set up through the SoundAlign2 browser interface over a standard Ethernet LAN. The system accepts analogue and digital inputs, with digital up to 192kHz. The maker lists the system as in production, with a waitlist open for early access.
