The IB2S-A is a self-powered three-way monitor built around PMC's Advanced Transmission Line (ATL) bass loading, with an effective ATL length of 2.4m. A 250mm carbon fibre/Nomex piston driver handles low frequencies, a 75mm soft dome covers the midrange and a 34mm soft dome tweeter handles the highs. The crossover points are 380Hz and 3.8kHz, and the stated frequency response is 20Hz-25kHz.
Each speaker contains its own amplification: 565W for the low-frequency driver, and 200W each for the midrange and the tweeter. Inputs include balanced analogue and AES3 digital connections for both the main and LFE feeds, each with a through connection. The digital input accepts 96kHz 24-bit AES3, and analogue input sensitivity can be selected from +4dBu to +20dBu. A digital remote volume control is mentioned in a user testimonial, along with an onboard DA converter.
The cabinet is 740mm high, 330mm wide and 549mm deep and weighs 46.5kg. A 20 year warranty is available when the product is registered within 10 days of purchase, subject to terms.
