The DDJ-800 is a two-channel controller for rekordbox. Its buttons, knobs and faders are laid out like those on club CDJ and DJM equipment. It weighs 1.3 kg less than the DDJ-1000, which makes it easier to transport.
A colour LCD sits in the centre of each jog wheel and can show BPM, waveform, playback position, and Hot Cue and Loop points. Feeling Adjust sets the jog wheel resistance. 16 back-lit rubber performance pads trigger Hot Cues, Pad FX, Beat Jump, Sampler, Keyboard Mode, Beat Loop and Key Shift. A dedicated Beat FX display provides quick access to effects from the DJM series.
The unit connects to a PC or Mac running rekordbox and needs no licence key to work with the software. It can also control channel faders, trims and EQs of external equipment such as turntables and media players. Software FX can be applied to those external sources. The rekordbox Feedback Reducer limits microphone howl. DVS use requires the rekordbox Core plan or above.
