The A80 is a powered bookshelf speaker pair in 18mm MDF cabinets. Each speaker pairs a ribbon tweeter with a 4.5-inch mid-woofer whose aluminum alloy cone was developed using laser Doppler interferometer measurements. A 30mm voice coil is used to limit power compression. Amplification totals 10W + 10W for the treble and 40W + 40W for the woofers (RMS).
Input options cover AUX, PC, USB, optical and Bluetooth 5.0. The USB and optical inputs accept sample rates up to 192kHz, and the speakers carry Hi-Res certification and an XMOS-based digital system. Isolation pads tilt each cabinet upward by 8 degrees to reduce vibration transferred to the surface it sits on.
Frequency response runs from 52Hz to 40kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio of 90dB (A) or better. Each cabinet measures 140 x 250 x 220mm, and the speakers weigh 9.3kg net. A Windows driver, user manual and compliance documents are published for the model.
