The T1 (3rd generation) is a flagship open-back stereo headphone made by hand in Heilbronn, Germany. Its Tesla drivers are developed, produced and individually measured in-house, then matched left to right. They sit at an angle in the housings to widen the soundstage, and the tuning adds a gently raised bass compared with earlier versions. The model is Hi-Res Audio certified.
The housing covers are lacquered stainless steel with an etched perforation pattern, and the yokes are brushed, anodised aluminium with Alcantara trim. Velour ear pads with a multi-layer fill that includes memory foam are breathable and replaceable, and spare ear pads, headbands, bows and drivers are listed as available.
The nominal impedance is 32 ohms, so no dedicated headphone amplifier is required, unlike the 600 ohm first and second generations. A detachable, double-sided 3 m fabric-covered cable with OCC7N copper conductors ends in a gold-plated 3.5 mm jack with a 6.35 mm adapter. Because the design is open, outside sound is audible and a quiet room is advised.
