Novus
NOVUS is a flagship universal in-ear monitor made by Empire Ears in collaboration with Astell&Kern. It uses 13 drivers in a Quadbrid layout with dual bone conductors and is aimed at listeners who want a high-end IEM, tuned with the Astell&Kern SP3000T player in mind.

NOVUS combines four driver technologies in each housing: dual W9+ subwoofers for bass and sub-bass, five balanced armatures (four of them custom NOVA drivers by Knowles), four Sonion electrostatic tweeters, and two high-mass Sonion bone conductors. A proprietary synX crossover network links all 13 drivers, and ARC resonance control and tuned venting are used to manage vibration and airflow inside the housing.
The shell is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a DLC (diamond-like carbon) finish. The faceplates are 24K gold plated, with sapphire glass over the logo grid. Empire Ears designs, engineers and hand-assembles the monitors in Georgia, USA. The Dual Conduction Architecture pairs air conduction (5Hz-100kHz) with bone conduction (5Hz-40kHz).
The detachable 4-wire Tribrid cable uses copper and gold-plated silver conductors and ends in a 4.4mm plug. A 4.4mm to 3.5mm Pentaconn adapter is included for other sources. The package also includes Final Audio E-Type tips in five sizes, a CNC aluminum case, a cleaning tool and a microfiber cloth.
